Who didn’t love this year’s WOMAD edition? It was just on time before the new COVID-19 measurements, which made it even more special to be able to still attend the festival. Now, being in the midst of a lockdown, we love to look back at the good times the festival brought us.

Although we were sad not to dance to Ziggy Marley’s tunes, we were lucky enough to have our shop close to the TSB Bowl stage. Indeed, the main stage! The sounds of Hiatus Kaiyote, the Blind Boys of Alabama, and, of course, Salif Keita joyed us while we had great conversations with great women visiting our shop.

While New Plymouth had blessed us with beautiful weather, we were happy to see so many people walking around in our crop tops and dresses – making the event even more colorful! New to our stock were the beautiful sterling silver tribal rings, handcrafted in the Sahara. While our founder Emily met this jewelry-maker in Morocco and bought his rings, she discovered he could now use this income to pay for his daughter’s school, making the rings priceless.

WOMAD brings together people from all over the world, as well as cultures, various sounds and delicious foods (who doesn't love a good Moroccan wrap?!). The celebration of this diversity is what Caravanandco represents. It is because of this that we love what we do.
